Striped linen jacket, from ISSEY MIYAKE PERMANENTE, Spring/Summer 1990. The linen is woven with narrow indigo stripes on a lighter blue ground. The body is boxy and ends at the hip, the shoulders are dropped and the sleeves are wide. A broad collar sits flat over the shoulders and crosses at the chest, cut so its stripes run horizontally against the vertical stripes of the body. The front closes with two buttons. There are two welt pockets at the hip. At the back the panels are seamed so the stripes converge into a deep V from the shoulders to the hem.
ISSEY MIYAKE PERMANENTE was launched in 1985, a line built on shapes and fabrics drawn from earlier ISSEY MIYAKE collections and intended to stay in production rather than turn over each season.
