We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable privacy laws, including Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 2.1 Store

When you browse our store or place an order through Squarespace, the following information may be collected:

  • Contact information: name, email address, shipping address
  • Payment information: processed directly and securely by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details. Please refer to Squarespace’s and Stripe’s respective privacy policies for details on how they handle payment data.
  • Order information: items purchased, order history, shipping status

2.2 ID Tools

When you create an account and use the ID Tools, we collect:

  • Account information: email address, authentication method (email/password or Google Sign-In). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile information with us as part of the authentication process.
  • Identification history: inputs you submitted (garment fields such as product codes, logo descriptions, care label details) and the results returned
  • Balance and transactions: credits purchased, credits used, transaction history, gift code redemptions
  • Usage data: timestamps of identifications, identification type (paid, demo, correction, failed)

2.3 Technical Information

Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit our site, including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URLs. This information is collected and managed by Squarespace as our website platform and is used for analytics and security purposes.


3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Process and fulfill store orders
  • Send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and customer support communications
  • Create and manage your ID Tools account
  • Provide identification services and store your identification history
  • Process payments and maintain transaction records
  • Send transactional emails related to your account (email confirmation, password reset, email change notifications)
  • Detect and prevent fraud and abuse of our services
  • Comply with legal and accounting obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your personal information for advertising purposes.


4. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with the following service providers who may process your personal information as part of delivering our services. Each provider operates under its own privacy policy.

  • Stripe — payment processing for store orders and ID Tools credits. stripe.com/privacy
  • Supabase — database hosting for ID Tools accounts, identification history, and transactions. supabase.com/privacy
  • Resend — transactional email delivery (account confirmations, password resets, email change notifications). resend.com/privacy
  • RapidAPI / ID Tools API — identification processing. When you submit an identification request, your input data (garment fields) is transmitted to this service to generate a result. We do not control how this provider stores or processes transmitted data and encourage you to review their terms of service.

5. Data Retention

  • Store data: Order and customer information is retained as required for accounting, legal compliance, and customer service purposes.
  • ID Tools account data: Retained for as long as your account is active.
  • After account deletion: Your identification history and personal data are removed from your active account. Your email address is retained in our records indefinitely for the purpose of preventing re-registration fraud. It is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with third parties.
  • Transaction records: Retained for a minimum of seven (7) years as required by applicable tax and accounting law in Quebec.
  • Backups: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being permanently overwritten.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information (you can update your email directly from your account page)
  • Delete your personal information (you can delete your account directly from your account page, or contact us)
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Data portability where applicable
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:
    • In Quebec: Commission d’accès à l’information (cai.gouv.qc.ca)
    • In the EU/EEA: your local data protection authority

9. Security

ID Tools account data is stored on Supabase with industry-standard security including row-level access controls and encrypted connections. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

10. International Users & Data Transfers

Our services are available internationally. Your personal information may be processed and stored outside your country of residence, including in Canada and the United States (where some of our service providers operate). We take steps to ensure that such transfers are made with appropriate safeguards.

For EU/EEA users (GDPR): We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: to provide the services you have requested
  • Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, security, and service improvement
  • Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws
