Ford Shines, but Stars Come Out for Slimane

[…] Raf Simons is arguably one of the most farsighted designers around. He does, and others follow. But on Saturday night, in a freezing warehouse, Mr. Simons's grim view of urban guerrillas dressed in layers of heavy coats, camouflage jackets and frayed hooded sweatshirts failed to ignite. Descending stairs amid iron scaffolding and a fake mist, the models kept peeling off layers. Yet the gesture revealed nothing.
Or perhaps, as so often happens in fashion when everybody is focused on the brightest light, we are not yet ready to see it.
